On July 2, 1964, President Lyndon Baines Johnson signed into law the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Fifty years later, the LBJ Presidential Library and the LBJ Foundation commemorated this historic act with the Civil Rights Summit. Over three days in Austin, TX, Former President Jimmy Carter, Former President Bill Clinton, Former President George W. Bush, and President Barack Obama all attended and made remarks regarding the Civil Rights Movement.

Over 50 participants including Bill Russell, Harry Edwards, Jim Brown, Joseph Califano, Doris Kearns Goodwin, Steve Stoute, Julian Bond, Congressman John Lewis, Maria Shriver, Graham Nash and many more attended this historic event. Some of the panels included topics that covered gay marriage, sports and race, music and social consciousness, and others.
